Phillips Masters The Cushion In First Malvern Bank 360 Win
15 Malvern Bank 360 Sprint Series drivers checked in at Hamilton County Speedway Friday night for their Fair Races.
Chris Martin of Ankeny, IA was the Deatherage Opticians Quick Time. Tasker Phillips of Pleasantville, IA won Heat 1 from the pole while Seth Brahmer of Wisner, NE won Heat 2 also from the pole. In the 6 car Dash Sawyer Phillips of Pleasantville, IA won and decided to decline the Lucky 6 Challenge from Electrical Systems Inc. That put him on the pole of the feature. Tasker Phillips would start 6th and have a chance to win an extra $3,600.
Sawyer Phillips started on the pole and was challenged on the opening lap of the 25 lap feature by Series Points Leader Chase Brown of Yutan, NE but a caution after 1 lap would force the field to restart single file. That would be the closest anyone would get to Phillips as we would ride the cushion masterfully clinching his first Malvern Bank 360 win. Brown would finish 2nd, Martin charged from 12th to finish 3rd, Tasker Phillips 4th, and Terry McCarl of Altoona, IA would round out the top 5.
The series is back in action Saturday August 16th at Adams County Speedway.
