Summit USRA Nationals open October with a bang

By USRA PR (Webster City, IA) -- Real American racers are ready to rock the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City, Iowa, this week as the historic half-mile dirt racetrack kicks off the 7th Annual Summit USRA Nationals powered by MyRacePass on Thursday.

Slated for October 1-3, the United States Racing Association’s annual fall classic will feature USRA Modifieds, American Racer USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods and Mensink Racing Products USRA Hobby Stocks all three nights. USRA Tuners join the card Friday and Saturday.

With a complete show of qualifying heat races and main events each night, the mega-event is also the season finale in the Christie Door Company Iron Man Challenge built by Medieval Chassis for both the Stock Car and B-Mod divisions.

Sunoco USRA Factory Stock and USRA Limited Mod competitors will battle at the 3rd Annual Summit USRA Southern Nationals at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 5-7.

Beginning in 2014, the first three Summit USRA Nationals took place at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, and then moved to Mike and Kyle Johnson’s I-35 Speedway in Winston, Missouri, for the 2017 and 2018 events before finding its way to the Hamilton County Speedway in 2019.

The marquee event returns to the Show-Me State next season as the next three Summit USRA Nationals in 2021, 2022 and 2023 will be held at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.

Each night of the 7th Annual Summit USRA Nationals award Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series national points. During the event, no USRA track or regional points are awarded anywhere and USRA national points are awarded here only.

Sweetening the pot for competitors is the “true car count” bonus points awarded each night. At any given event at a USRA-sanctioned racetrack in America, each driver is awarded a car count bonus for national points that is equal to that event’s car count with a maximum of 24 points for car counts of 24 or more. At the Summit USRA Nationals, however, each driver earns at least 60 car count bonus points with more awarded if the car count is higher in that class. There is no maximum. This system makes for a huge impact on the USRA national points battles in every division.
